15-month checkup

Back from Vegas

Man, did we miss these kids! We couldn't wait to pick them up from daycare today. They seemed pretty happy to see us too :)

Day one

We were in the new house only 10 minutes before Hannah's room was already a mess. 

Hannah (as Elsa) helped me put together the nightstand that goes with her new Big Girl Bed. 

We ran out of time to construct the actual bed frame, but she was pretty excited about the bed anyway. 

Our friend Marguerite stopped by and immediately fell in love with this green chair which she would like to steal from us. 

Erik's parents brought over delicious soup and joined us for our first meal in the new house. I think we're going to love it here!

Father of the year

On Labor Day we made a trip to Poulsbo to go to the famous Sluy's Bakery, where I waited in line inside while Hannah peered into the window. Simon was pretty much just done with all of it. 

Enjoying the last bit of summer

Hannah would look for crabs all day, if given the chance. 

New house!

We found a rental house in Tacoma that we really like, and we're moving in this weekend! We took the kids by to show them around. 

Turns out we have a view of Mt. Rainier from the front window! (Sorry it's not in this shot.)

The yard is amazing. There are built in benches around the back deck. There's a huge fig tree in the corner of the yard, and the raised beds appear to have tomatoes, cabbage, basil, dahlias, and a bunch of other things I can't identify. I'm looking forward to seeing what else crops up!

Day trip to Port Townsend

It was a gray day but we decided to head up to Port Townsend. Erik and I haven't been in a while, and it's only an hour from Silverdale. It's a cute town with beautiful old buildings. 

While Hannah was standing there, three scuba divers surfaced. 

Hannah chatted with them and they showed her the giant crabs they collected during the dive. 

After riding in the baby carrier for a while, Simon was very glad to stretch his legs!
